Development of RES in Russia has enormous potential but wind farms and solar power plants have one serious drawback — difficulty in forecasting the daily energy yield.

Guaranteed suppliers and grid operators will face enormous challenges every day — produce and supply enough energy to meet constantly changing needs of consumers. During the day, we have a peak demand — households and enterprises consume energy from the grid, during the night, the world slows down — energy systems can prepare to further peak hours. Over past decades in the world and in Russia different storage systems for energy storage were developed.

There is a range of available technologies for energy storage and all these solutions have advantages and disadvantages.
